I am wondering why they called it alliance battles, because it has absolutely nothing to do with your alliance.
It would have been cool if you could play with 3 teams with 4 from each guild of your alliance, but right now it looks more like random arenas with mending wammo's running around trying to solo stuff..

Are arenanet planning to do something to make alliances useful to pvp players? because right now i don't see any use to an alliance, as we pvp players wont be able to hold a city, and will never be able to things like elite missions, as i am not a faction farmer and noone in my guild is.

offcourse, but i hoped they would put in some new forms of pvp into factions, instead they just added another random arena like pvp style.
i'm hoping to see real alliance battles.

ArenaNet is notoriously bad at naming things. I wouldn't hold your breath for any amazing names in the future.

Faction with Balthazar isn't like Faction with Luxons which is like Faction with Kurzicks, and the last two are only useful if you own Guild Wars: Factions.

It's a battle between 3 groups of people that are allied with the Kurzicks and 3 groups of people allied with the Luxons...

2 Alliances doing battle with each other.

lets just call them anet's failure at integrating pvp and pve. Sounds catchy to me

pardon me while I shed the worlds smallest tear for your plight in not being able to hold a city with your PVP guild..

you can continue to emote your rank in heros ascent.. Ill not complain one bit about it

PvP and PvE should garner the same amount of faction faction (that's luxon/kurzick faction) to give your alliance.
